Activities Logbook questions

Still unsure? Book a free consult and ask us directly.

Who is the Activities Logbook for?

Three kinds of applicants, each with its own track: College, for the Common App's activities section; Premed, for AMCAS work and activities, with shadowing, GPA, MCAT, prerequisites and letters; and Pre-Dental, for ADEA AADSAS experiences and achievements. Pick yours at the top. Each track keeps its own entries, so switching never changes another track.

Where is my information saved?

Only in this browser, on this device (its local storage). Nothing you type is sent to ProMed United or anyone else, and there is no account. To move a track to another device or keep a copy, use Export backup, then Import backup on the other device. Clearing your browser's site data erases it, so export a backup now and then.

I used the Premed Logbook. Where are my entries?

On the Premed track, exactly as you left them: the Premed Logbook became the Activities Logbook's Premed track, and it reads the same saved data in this browser. Backups you exported from the Premed Logbook import there too.

Is it really free?

Yes. The Activities Logbook is free to use with no sign-up and no trial. Like the rest of the site, the page may count visits and button clicks (such as Export) through its analytics; it never sends what you enter.

Which limits does each track use?

College: the Common App's 2026–27 activities section, up to 10 activities, with 50 characters for a position or leadership role (optional), 100 for the organization name, and 150 for the description. Premed: the 19 experience types and the limits in the AAMC's 2027 AMCAS application materials, up to 15 entries, 700 characters per description, and up to 3 Most Meaningful experiences with 1,325 more characters each. Pre-Dental: the 8 ADEA AADSAS experience types, up to 6 most important experiences and 4 most important achievements. Where an official detail couldn't be confirmed (the Common App's current activity-type list, or an ADEA AADSAS description length), the logbook asks you to check the application instead of guessing. Counters show when a draft runs over; nothing is cut off.

Is the GPA on the Premed track the same as my AMCAS or AACOMAS GPA?

It is an estimate on the standard 4.0 scale with plus and minus grades. AMCAS and AACOMAS verify your official transcripts and apply their own rules to repeated courses, quarter hours, and how each course is classified, so their numbers can differ. BCPM (biology, chemistry, physics, and math) is the science GPA AMCAS reports.

How many activities or hours do I need?

The logbook doesn't set targets: what each college, medical school or dental school looks for differs, so check each school's own information. On the Premed track you can set your own hour goals on the Overview and track progress toward them.
