The exam
What's on the MCAT.
The MCAT® is a computer-based, multiple-choice exam from the AAMC with four sections.
- Chem/Phys
Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
General chemistry, physics, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, applied to how the body works.
- CARS
Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
Passages from the humanities and social sciences. No outside science knowledge: careful reading and reasoning.
- Bio/Biochem
Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
Biology and biochemistry, with some general and organic chemistry, applied to living systems.
- Psych/Soc
Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior
Psychology, sociology, and biology, and how they shape behavior and health.
Each section is scored from 118 to 132, for a total score from 472 to 528.
How it works
From the free consult to test day.
Live one-on-one sessions on a fixed weekly schedule, with a tutor matched to you and a plan that follows your practice results.
- Before you buy
Free consult
A short call about your test date, your scores so far, and how much time you have each week. We suggest a package size, with no obligation.
- Before session 1
A matched tutor and a fixed schedule
We pair you with a tutor matched to the MCAT, your goals, and your schedule, and set the same days and times each week.
- Session 1
The diagnostic, also your Good Fit Consult
Your tutor goes through a recent full-length practice exam, ideally one of the AAMC's official practice exams, or your score report if you're retaking, and sorts every miss: a content gap, a reasoning error, a timing problem, or a misread question.
Session 1 is the first paid session with your matched tutor, and it is your Good Fit Consult, covered by our Good Fit Guarantee: if you're not happy after it for any reason, we refund that first session in full.
- Every week
A plan built around your test date
A written, week-by-week plan, built backward from your test date, puts the highest-yield gaps first. Each session reviews your misses, teaches the next topic, and ends with timed practice.
- Final weeks
Full-length practice under test conditions
Full-length official AAMC practice exams, taken timed and reviewed in session, so the plan follows what they show.
Who it is for
Wherever you're starting from, we meet you there.
Taking it for the first time
Start with a plan that fits your classes, work, and test date, so you know what to study each week.
Retaking the MCAT
An honest review of your score report, a rebuilt plan, and full-length practice before you sit again.
One section holding you back
CARS stuck, or one science lagging? We find out whether it's content, reasoning, or timing, and fix that first.
Studying around a full schedule
In school or working full time? Sessions run at the same times each week, set around your schedule.

Frequently asked questions
Still unsure? Book a free consult and ask us directly.
How much does MCAT Tutoring cost?
MCAT Tutoring is priced on your free consult. Packages are 10, 20, 40, or 80 hours, and we suggest a size once we know your test date and starting point. There's no obligation.
Who will I work with, and what if it isn't a good fit?
A tutor from the ProMed United team, matched to the MCAT, your goals, and your schedule after your free consult. Dr. Dave, DO, MBS, designed the tutoring method and leads the team. Your first session with your matched tutor is your Good Fit Consult. If you're not happy after that first session for any reason, we refund that first session in full. The Good Fit Guarantee applies to Tutoring packages only.
Is tutoring online?
Yes. Every session is a live one-on-one video session at the same times each week, so you can join from anywhere.
How long does prep take?
It depends on your test date, your starting point, and how many hours a week you can study. We set your timeline after the diagnostic in session 1, not before, and we work with any timeline.
Do I need to buy the official practice exams?
Usually, yes. The AAMC sells its official MCAT practice materials directly to students. Your tutor helps you choose which full-length exams to take and when, so you still have one left for the final weeks.
Do you replace my prep books or question bank?
No. We work alongside the materials you already use and add a clear method for reviewing what you miss.
Can you guarantee a score?
No. No ethical tutor can guarantee a score. Tutoring is designed to help you study efficiently and walk in prepared, and your practice tests show both of us honestly how it's going.
